Alaska blackcod is a unique whitefish with a high oil content and a distinctive rich flavor.  Also known as sablefish, this species is also prized for its flaky, white meat, succulent taste and melt-in-your-mouth texture. Often served lightly smoked or in Asian applications, this fish is adaptable to a wide variety of cuisines. North Pacific Seafoods processes Alaska blackcod caught on longlines.

Alaska blackcod is harvested year-round and is available from North Pacific Seafoods as frozen dressed fish. Our close working relationship with the fishing fleet coupled with our processing and shipping systems ensures the freshness and traceability of all North Pacific Seafoods Alaska black cod products.
